Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 14th October, 2011

Today's weather;

The sky over Koh Samui is slightly clouded with plenty of blue spots in it. Current temp at 7am is 26.3C

The forecast for the next 7 days is still looking very good.

The floods around Bangkok and Northern parts of Thailand continue. 230 highways remain closed and residents in Pathum Thani are now being evacuated.

Big Buddha, the view nicely covered by a tree

Yesterday saw a lovely day all around Samui with enough sunshine for the sun lovers. Max temp reached 32.6C

I just spent 6 fabulous days on Samui, flew out Oct 11 with not one bad day. Be prepared for the odd storm at evening but seems the Gods are looking after paradise for October so far!

Dear Camille,

Three of us heading to Ko Samui next weekend (21st October) and would stay until 26th. I was surfing on internet looking for weather and just found you blog.

I’m writing to you about the followings. What weather we can expect there at that time because different weather sites give different information (for example: wether.com all day rain others few or no rain). I thought you live there so you might know more.

We have been many times in Samui but only from December to March. What we can expect on restaurants and nightlife point of view? (everything is dead and empty or still open restaurants and some parties).

The other thing is both 3 of us have advanced PADI license. I read you are a PADI Course Director so you might would offer few options for us to dive.

Would really appreciate your help and answers. Waiting for your kind reply.

Best regards,

Laszlo

Hi Laszlo,

Good to hear from you. Right now the forecast for the next 7 days looks good, it’s hard to say or see what’s going to happen after that. Somewhere around late October or early November the rainy season should start but we never know exactly when that will be.

Please have a look at my archives, half way down the page on my Samui info and weather blog, left hand side, they go back a few years. Open a month that you’re interested in and check one of the of the last posts of each month, starting with ‘Goodbye to…………’ this post will tell you the weather conditions for that month.
You can also check each individual post for that month if you wish to.

Pretty much all restaurants and bars stay open year round although during heavy rain periods they may not be very busy!

I can definitely help you out with some diving, although this will also depend on the weather conditions once you’re on Samui.

Hope this helps for now!
