Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 29th November, 2010

Today's weather;

Samui is very cloudy this morning and it looks like some rain is in the making. The forecast for this week is also not looking that great with the wind picking up and more usual monsoon rain seemingly on it's way. Current temp at 7am is 26.8C

Koh Lanta where I am right now is similar, very cloudy and rain is not unlikely. Current temp at 7am is 26C

Yesterday saw a cloudy day on Samui with marginal amounts of rain at some parts of the island. Max temp reached 29.3C

Driving from Kao Lak to Koh Lanta yesterday, there was almost a constant drizzle all day longand even a few bursts of sunshine near Lanta. Max temp reached 31.5 on Lanta.

Hi,

Right the forecast doesn’t look that great indeed but over the weekend it seems to be clearing up again. The weather is pretty much the same all over the island, although it sometimes can rain in one part of the island and be sunny and dry in another part. Crossing your fingers is unfortunately the best thing to do right now.

Good luck!

Dear Camille.
Thankyou for your blog. Im using it every morning.
We are a family going to Ko Samui 22.12 and have planed 13 days at Smile
House.
Now Im wondering if this is to long on this resort. We are 2 adults and 3
children age 6-11.
Perhaps we should stay only 7 days and then go to Ko Tao 29.12. Perhaps you
know a nice place, the nicest, for a family on Ko Tao. Or perhaps is Smile
House the best option. We are going to Ko phangan Seaflower Bungalows the
4.1 2011 for 10 days..
Perhaps you have an answer to my difficult question?
Best regards
Niels

Hi Niels,

Smile house is a good place and I would recommend to stay there since you have the reservation now. Going to Koh Tao without reservation that time of the year is not a good idea, I would expect Koh Tao to be rather full over New year. In my opinion there’s also enough and possibly more to do for the children on Koh Samui.

Hope this helps for now.

Hi Helene,

Usually it only rains for a couple of hours and not all day long anymore, although this is not a guarantee!
