Koh Samui, Thailand daily weather update; 13th November, 2010

Today's weather;

Samui is a different island since I'm back! The sun was out a few times already today and although there's some overcast, the sun is fighting for space as well! Current temp at 10am is 27.7C

The forecast for the next 7 days is grand, plenty of sunshine and not much rain at all.

The late post is due to an internet problem this morning and by the time the connection came on again I had left the house.

Today we drove around the island and there just a few places where a marginal amount of water is still on the road. I didn't see many water pumps, in contrast to other years. Daily English newspaper The Nation claimed that the Thai Government is to spend another 840,-Million THB to improve the drainage systems on Samui.

Yesterday's sunshine in front of Tesco Lotus in Chaweng

Yesterday saw a lovely day, almost all day long sunshine and the heat slapped you in the face, the way it should be! Things are back to normal! Max temp reached 28.5C

Hello Camille,
Thank you for making a very helpful blog. I was just wondering if you could give me some advice.
Me and 2 friends are staying on Kho Phi Phi at the moment and are planning to travel to Koh Samui tomorrow (14th) but we are hesitant since hearing of the floods. The weather here in Phi Phi is lovely except for the occasional heavy rain. We were wondering would it be best to hang on in Phi Phi for another couple of days until the weather in Samui improves or is it ok to make the journey across.
Thanking you,
John.

Hi John,

The weather right now is great since yesterday and the forecast look most promising. In my opinion it's save to cross over to Samui and have some nice days here.

Hi Camille,

I woke up this morning to such lovely news, some sun!! Do you think it will last until our visit on 23rd? I'm hoping so!

Thanks again for your blog, has made me feel like I've been on holiday already as it's so detailed!

Can't wait for my holiday now, if you have any recommendations for restaurants in Chaweng that would be great!

Thanks Camille!
