18th December, 2008

Today's weather;

It's a repeat from the previous days it seems. A blue sky laced with clouds. The current temp at 7 am is 24.6C.

Yesterday was sunny but with a clouded sky. Still nice enough to get a tan! Max temp reached 30C.

Abhisit receives royal command and is now officially Thailands 27th PM.

Hi Camille,

The flights were cancelled through our travel agent. Went to re book today for Jan or Feb but prices were coming back much more expensive than we paid for Dec. Think we have found a way round it if we book our own accommodation in Koh Samui. Have been looking at bungalows in various locations all roughly 2200 baht per night. Sundays Sanctury Resort in Bo Phut looks nice – have you heard of this place or can you recommend any other accommodation for that price?

Kind Regards,
Lindsay

Hi Lindsay,

Good to see that you’re still planning to get over here! I think you’re going about in the right way, I do know the resort that you mention, but have never visited it, so I can’t make any comments.
Maybe have a quick look at my Samui hotel blog for some ideas? The link is here Samui hotel recommendations

Good luck with booking everything!

Hi Gamel,

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Unfortunately sea fishing is an area in which I have very limited knowledge. I can only commend to have a look around and see if there are any other operators than the ones you usually use.

Right now the weather is just lovely!

Hi Camille,

I stumbled upon your blog trying to get a feel for what weather will be like around January 5th or so. I am looking to visit and stay during out trip to Thailand, for a few days, will be our only seaside part of the trip. We'd love to have sunny skies, and good weather to visit Ang Thong. Would you recommend this time of year for a visit?

Thanks very much, your site is great, wish you all the best,

Jane

Hi Jane,

Although the weather is usually nice around early January, there's no guarantee that it will be next year, I can only hope so. Out of experience it is though. Maybe look up my archives to have a look yourself.

Ang Thong is worth a trip, either for canoe-ing or just a day trip. Enjoy your stay on Samui, providing you decide to come and visit!
