Kwanmuang Restaurant

UNFORTUNATELY KWANMUANG HAS CLOSED AND I DON'T HAVE ANY NEWS ON ANY POSSIBLE NEW WHERE ABOUTS.

Kwanmuang restaurant is a Chinese/Thai restaurant.

It's located directly opposite Big C, to be more precisely, opposite the Starbucks at Big C.

This is the signage, it reads Kwanmuang, in case you can't read Thai. All dishes are 50,-Baht only, except for some special daily dishes, which are on a whiteboard inside the restaurant, in Thai!

Some of my fave dishes are 'Paet ob johd pad' a duck dish or 'tauhu hong thae' a tofu dish, they also have a killer 'Puu Pong Curree' dish, crab eggs in yellow curry powder.
Yesterday we ate with 3 adults and two children and we had 5 or 6 dishes with some drinks and it all added up to 550,-Baht.
Some of the dishes they serve are very typical Chinese/Thai dishes, like 'Tom Djab Tchai' a vegetable dish and this is one of the few places on Koh Samui that I know of that serve these dishes.

Here's a view in the kitchen. As you can easily observe, it's a very 'simple' place, simple, basic tables with plastic chairs, so no dress code required.

The place is very popular with locals. It doesn't open until 6 pm or so but is open until very late and is a popular after hours hang out spot.

Enjoy your food there, I can highly recommend it.

Cheers,

Camille
